About Melissa
More or less, my second career as an interior designer happened through a combination of constant passion, sheer talent, divine intervention, and a bit of risk taking.
My love for interior design began at an early age when I begged my mother to let me re-design my bedroom on an annual basis until I left for college.
I purchased my first home in 2018 in the charming Madison Park neighborhood of Seattle; there, I completed a large remodel on our 1926 beach charmer. Throughout the project, I really leaned into my love for the creative process of interior design and it quickly evolved beyond a hobby when friends, family and strangers were constantly asking me to help develop the design for their projects. From there, I enrolled in Parson’s The New School Interior Design School Curriculum to better address my own projects and also serve my clients in the best way possible. My technical skills in interior design were developed, and from there, Melissa Cahoon Interiors was born!

As a practicing dentist in boutique offices for nearly a decade, my precision and attention to detail paired with exceptional customer service abilities for high end clients have served me well in providing an outstanding interior design experience.
