Why We Decided to Get a Pool in Seattle (Yes, Really):

If you’ve ever lived through a Seattle spring, you know we’re not exactly known for year-round sunshine. So when we first started dreaming about adding a pool to our backyard, we hesitated. Was it practical? Would we really use it enough to justify the cost?

We got a full bid for a traditional in-ground pool — and while beautiful, the numbers gave us pause. The cost was significant, especially considering our seasonal climate. We couldn’t shake the feeling that it might not be worth it.

But we also couldn’t shake the vision.

We kept coming back to how we wanted to live in our home. Long summer evenings with friends gathered around, kids splashing while the adults unwind nearby, and the joy of stepping outside and feeling like you’re on vacation — even if just for an afternoon.

That’s when we discovered Soake Pools — a prefabricated plunge pool that gave us everything we wanted, without the overwhelm of a full-scale build. These smaller-format pools are beautifully designed, easier to maintain, and more budget-friendly than traditional pools. They also fit perfectly into a compact backyard space, which made them ideal for our Seattle lot.
